The Stumped boy
by Peter Last
NOTE: I wrote this story for a composition assignment in 2000. I received a grade of “good job,” though I did also receive the feedback “try finding another word for stumped.” I have rendered the story here in its original text, including misspellings.
Once there was a nine year old boy named Peter. Peter was home schooled and had really easy compositon, but it kept getting harder. One day he had to write about a character with a problem. This left Peter realy stumped.
What would he write about? What would be the problem? Where would he put his character?
Peter decided to write about a car that ran out of gas in the middle of no where. Then he decided not to. Peter was stumped. He thought for one whole day.
The next morning he said “I will write about myself”! So he say down, wrote a good story, and got an A+ on his assignment!
